Not Your Normal Wine Tasting, Gimonda in Terricciola

There are many beautiful vineyards in Terricciola, after all it is the Citta del Vino, but one of the more unique vineyards is Gimonda. And what makes this vineyard unique is not only its deliciously amazing wine, but it’s owner Beppe. Not only is he a fantastic host with a wealth of knowledge on the area's grapes, production and history, but he showers you with glasses of his wines and bountiful aperitivos. 

Gimonda is a small, family vineyard with approximately four hectares of land and is about 45 years old. Beppe runs the entire show, from vines to harvest to production. And are his wines fabulous! The traditional territory vines are Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino for his reds, and Trebbiano and Colombana for his whites. And yes, he harvests his grapes by hand before they go through the fermentation process in his stainless steel and vitrified concrete containers. But it’s his amazing Vicerè that is then aged in French Oak making it an unmissable drinking experience.
